A Multi-Commodity Market Approach to Power Load Management
نویسندگان
چکیده
Power load management is the concept of controlling the loads at the demand side in order to run energy systems more efficiently. Energy systems are inherently highly distributed and contain large number of loads, up to some million. This implies that computationally and conceptually attractive methods are required for this application. In this paper we give two novel theorems for how to decompose general resource allocation problems into markets. We also introduce novel a multi-commodity market design to meet the demands of power load management. The approach is demonstrated to lead to very high quality allocations, and to have a number of advantages compared to current methods. Topics: Market-Oriented Programming, Distributed Resource Allocation, Decentralized systems (individual choices driving collective behavior), and Foundations.

Power Load Management as a Multi-Commodity Market
The current report investigates the application of market-oriented programming to power load management. Power load management (or load management for short) is the management of loads at the customer side in order to manage energy systems more efficiently. As energy systems are very large and heavily distributed (typically including millions of loads in an area covering counties or countries),...
متن کاملMulti-Objective Stochastic Programming in Microgrids Considering Environmental Emissions
This paper deals with day-ahead programming under uncertainties in microgrids (MGs). A two-stage stochastic programming with the fixed recourse approach was adopted. The studied MG was considered in the grid-connected mode with the capability of power exchange with the upstream network. Uncertain electricity market prices, unpredictable load demand, and uncertain wind and solar power values, du...
متن کاملMarket power influential approach using game theory in a two competing supply chains with multi-echelons under centralized/decentralized environments
This paper is considering the competition between two multi-echelon supply-chains on price and service under balance and imbalance of market power between the chains which are analyzing through Nash and Stackelberg game approach. The problem is categorized as the centralized or decentralized structure of each chain, which means a few different possible scenarios are developing based on the Nash...
متن کاملA Multi-Year Scenario-Based Transmission Expansion Planning Model Incorporating Available Transfer Capability
This paper presents a multi-year scenario-based methodology for transmission expansion planning (TEP) in order to enhance the available transfer capability (ATC). The ATC is an important factor for all players of electricity market who participate in power transaction activities and can support the competition and nondiscriminatory access to transmission lines among all market participants. The...
متن کاملEnergy Scheduling in Power Market under Stochastic Dependence Structure
Since the emergence of power market, the target of power generating utilities has mainly switched from cost minimization to revenue maximization. They dispatch their power energy generation units in the uncertain environment of power market. As a result, multi-stage stochastic programming has been applied widely by many power generating agents as a suitable tool for dealing with self-scheduling...
